Information collected by us from users of the site will be securely stored by us on computers in the UK and may be used in the following ways:
1. Compulsory User Information
| 1.1 | Any compulsory user information required by us will be requested when you register. Your username will be visible to the public when it is necessary to identify any data you provide for viewing by the public; for example, but not limited to, posts on message boards or game high scores. By default, your e-mail address will be private and stored only to allow our systems to securely issue you with a temporary password should you forget your login password, or to allow us to contact you if the need arises. You are able to configure your account so that your e-mail address will be made public by the system, in which case it will appear wherever we believe it would be appropriate, for example, but not limited to, posts on message boards. Your password will be stored after being encrypted using a one-way encryption algorithm, and there is no way to find out the non-encrypted value of your password. |
2. Optional User Information
| 2.1 | Any further personal information can be provided using the configuration section. Any such information is optional, and if you provide it, it will be viewable to other users of the system through the user information service (see 4). |
3. Statistics
| 3.1 | Statistical information is stored concerning each page retrieved, in order to allow us to plan upgrades for the future. Information stored includes your username. Under the Data Protection Act, you have the right to see this information (see 7). |
4. User Information Service
| 4.1 | The site provides a user information service for other registered users of the website. This will show which users are logged into the site, and how long it was since they last requested a page. If you do not wish to be listed in this section, you are able to change an option in your configuration, marked as 'Do not list me as online'. |
| 4.2 | The user information service will also allow other registered users to view any compulsory information which you allow to be made public, and any optional information you provide, as well as site statistics such as, but not necessarily limited to, game high scores. |
5. Cookies
| 5.1 | We make use of cookies to store login information allowing you to hold a session, and we may occasionally use it to temporarily store settings for certain areas of the website, for example, but not limited to, the virtual tour. The only personal information stored in the cookies is your username, which is encrypted using a one-way encryption algorithm. |
6. Security
| 6.1 | Your personal data is securely stored inside password protected SQL tables, and only the webmaster has access to this information. |
7. Access to Data
| 7.1 | You have certain rights under the Data Protection Acts. You have the right to be told what personal information we hold about you on our databases. Most of this should be visible from the 'configuration' section. However, if you wish to see this information, send an e-mail, from the e-mail address you registered with, to webmaster@quarry5.co.uk stating your username and mail address. An administrative charge will be made for fulfilling this request. |
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
| 8.1 | Any changes to the privacy policy will be posted here. |
